Coils are the most disposable part of a Vape device. Sure, cotton can burn, but the cotton can last a long time if it’s never burned. Coils, get burned up with time.
The wire deteriorates as it is used up over time, becoming more resistance with weaker results. That is why coils often stop getting hot before and then die. Sometimes too much electricity will rush through the coil at once, causing it to short out or over-heat and burn out immediately.
Most probably, you’ve experienced more than one of these results even if you didn’t know why it was happening. Let us share the ways a vaper can extend the life of his coils and avoid unintentionally, causing them to burn out fast.
DON’T OVERHEAT THE COIL
While you’re vaping, you can only hit the button on your device for so long then the battery will stop firing. Do you have an idea why?
Coils will continue to heat up as long as you are pressing the button. Pressing the button causing the battery to release electricity that runs through the coils, heating them up, and the hotter they get, the more likely they are going to burn out.
If you really want to take a long puff, that’s ok, but for everyday vaping, don’t overheat the coil. Press your button short and efficiently.
KEEP YOU VAPE AT A LOWER TEMPERATURE
Another way to keep your coil active longer is to keep your vape device at a lower temperature. High temps are great for cloud chasing and uses a lot of e-juice. Low temperatures are better for appreciating the intricacies of your favorite e-juice flavor.
Lowering the temperature of your vape, you will increase the life of your coil by a few weeks as less electricity is running through. You will also get an added bonus, as you might discover the richness of the flavor in your juice.
INCREASE TEMPERATURE GRADUALLY WHILE YOUR VAPING
Cloud chasers can’t stay away from high temperature. Hitting the new coil with full-power electricity will cause the coil to burn like a lightbulb.
It is better to break in your coils gradually before going to the full force of the high temp of choice. New coils not only need to be primed with e-Juice on the cotton but also with lower temp in the beginning. When you first install a new coil, lower the temperature and then slowly raise it back up again during the day. So the coils are broken in and warm up.
It is also recommended that you warm up the coils at the beginning of each vape session.
DON’T VAPE LIKE WIDLY
Chain vaping is when you take one big puff one right after the other. This is good for filling a room up, but it is not great for your vape device. Not only it will dry out your cotton as there is no time for the cotton to re-soak between puffs, it also will burn out your coil.
USE TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED (TC) SETTINGS
Temperature Control (TC) senses the coils deterioration with constant use, the amount of resistance increases. TC devices can measure the change in the resistance and adjust the electricity flow appropriately.
STAY AWAY FROM SUGAR HEAVY E-JUICES
Natural flavors are the best bet for the health of coils and your cotton. Enjoying these sugar-heavy clouds has a negative side-effect that few vaper saw coming: Heating sugary e-liquid exposes the sugar directly to the heating element… causing the sugar to caramelize onto the coil forming a residue that is not good for your coil.
The coil can be saved by continuously cleaning, as sugary vape will caramelize every time.
Finlay, remember to save your coil, keep it from overheating, and clean.
